Our paper reveals two techniques for simultaneous dimension of radon and thoron exhalation by soil and building supplies: (1)-charcoal adsorbent, respectively (2)-Lucas cell technique. The both equally methods can be applied especially in the circumstance of a garden soil flux enhanced in thoron gas. Inside the Lucas cellular case a quick accumulation time was used (10-15 minutes). The thoron focus under piling up volume was measured soon after the sample gas extraction and a regression equation is used for determining equilibrium thoron concentration. In the case of charcoal method the thoron was measured numerous hours after a particular degassing of the sample. Using the LUK-3A unit for house materials, the thoron debordement was measured only over a special increased thorium+radium test
1 . INTRODUCTION
The radon isotopes 220Rn (thoron) and 222Rn (radon) had been intensely studied in the last time due to their engagement in the lung cancer risk and in addition for geological purposes . The primary sources of the indoor radon are the garden soil radon and radon exhalation from building materials . The active a lot was often utilized for radon measurement specifically for indoor radon [4-5]. The method in the soil radon and exhalation measurement from your soil and building supplies using infiltration in energetic charcoal was also applied [6-8] with good results in this case corrections regarding grilling with charcoal humidity related of the break point of charcoal are needed . In every these instances the radon adsorbed in charcoal is definitely measured by simply gamma spectrometry, commonly with NaI(Tl) detectors. For inexpensive and good reasons, the grilling with charcoal canisters must be degassed and re-used of several times. Typically, the charcoal cleaning is manufactured by degassing the charcoal at 120-140п‚°C during 12-14 hours, in the case of high radon content adsorbed in charcoal, for the complete desorption of radon, 2-3 actions are necessary . The technique for charcoal degassing suggested in this work has the benefits to be more rapid (10-15 minutes) and that produces a significantly better degassing. Alternatively, the manner of degassing permits the thoron determination by charcoal possibly in the case in the next measured by low molteplicit? spectrometry applying NaI (Tl) detectors. Generally, the measurement methods for thoron determination need either alpha or high gamma resolution spectroscopy. This work reveals the method for simultaneous way of measuring of radon and thoron from garden soil using charcoal adsorption. Exhalation of radon from a lot of Romanian structures materials attained by charcoal adsorption technique was validated in several cases by Lucas cell method. In the case of 1 sample the actual result was in contrast to those attained in the body of ERRICCA Intercomparison Exercise from Athens in The spring 1999 . Finally, the both equally radon and thoron exhalation from a particular concrete sample made in the laboratory, synthetically enhanced in 226Ra and also in 224Ra(Th[NO3]2) was made.

A metal cylindrical yacht of 0, 7 L, Fig. you, was used for charcoal degassing. In the top part it truly is connected to a vacuum pump. After filling (250 g of charcoal) and closing employing six anchoring screws and a lead appropriate, the vessel is placed in another bigger vessel with water. The later is put on an electric boiling. When ever reaching the drinking water boiling heat, the pump is started out for 15 minutes. The charcoal is then picked up and can be used for radon-thoron sponging in the next coverage. Measuring the charcoal radioactivity after this procedure, the power over...
